MEET THE FOUNDER
Amy Byer's path to founding HANDLED Estate Sales was anything but conventional. Yet looking back, it seems almost inevitable.
With a career spanning television production, Beverly Hills real estate, and the world of art and antiques, Amy brought an unusual combination of experience and expertise to the estate sale industry.
Her fascination with collecting began while producing At the Auction with Leslie Hindman for HGTV, filmed at Sotheby's in Chicago. She went on to spend six years at Warner Bros. Television in comedy development, followed by seven years in Beverly Hills real estate.
But it was the loss of her mother in 2015, and the emotional experience of dispersing a lifetime of treasured possessions, that ultimately changed her professional direction. After experiencing firsthand the value of a thoughtfully managed estate sale, Amy joined Everything But The House, where she managed more than 30 online estate sales before founding HANDLED in 2018.
Today, more than 140 estate sales later, HANDLED has earned a reputation for extraordinary collections, imaginative marketing, and some of Los Angeles' most fascinating homes—from the residences of Hollywood legends to the estates of distinguished collectors.
Together with her experienced team, Amy has built a company that combines a discerning eye, meticulous attention to detail, and a genuine appreciation for the stories behind the objects.
