Every sale is an opportunity to discover something wonderful. Here's everything you need to know before you shop.
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
How do I find out about upcoming sales?
Subscribe to our email list for invitations, sale photographs, and early access to addresses. You can also follow us on Instagram and TikTok @handledestatesales or find our listings on EstateSales.net.
When and where are your sales?
Our sales are typically held from 10 AM to 4 PM, with last entry at 3:30 PM. Addresses are released on the first morning of each sale—Typically 8 AM to email subscribers and 9 AM to the general public via Instagram and EstateSales.net.
Do I need a reservation?
Most of our sales are open to the public and do not require reservations. Occasionally, a sale may require an appointment. Any special entry requirements will be clearly stated in the invitation.
How does entry work?
We use a numbered ticket system to manage entry, particularly during busy opening hours.
Once the address is announced, you may visit the property to collect a numbered entry ticket. Our security team begins lining up shoppers in numerical order a half hour before we open the doors.
You must be present when your number is called. If you miss your turn, you'll need to join the back of the line.
The same procedure applies on subsequent sale days.
All shoppers must sign an entry waiver.
Can I preview a sale?
We don't offer public in-person previews, but we share extensive photographs and video previews through our email invitations, EstateSales.net, Instagram, and TikTok.
WHILE YOU SHOP
How does shopping work?
Think of it as shopping in a beautifully curated store—except nearly everything has a history.
Browse the home at your leisure. Most items for sale are individually priced, and anything not available for purchase will be marked accordingly.
Found something you love? Place smaller items on our designated hold table while you continue shopping. When you're ready to check out, a team member will prepare your sales ticket.
Can I bring a handbag?
To protect our clients' homes and collections, handbags, backpacks, shopping bags, boxes, pet carriers, and baby carriers are not permitted inside. Please leave these items, along with bulky coats, in your vehicle.
Bring your phone, wallet, and a good eye.
Unfortunately, we cannot store personal belongings.
Can I call ahead about an item or purchase it over the phone?
We do not provide pricing information over the phone, accept telephone purchases, or hold merchandise before a sale.
Vintage pieces should always be inspected in person to assess their condition, and we want every shopper to have that opportunity.
PURCHASES & PICKUP
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept major credit cards, Apple Pay, cash, Venmo, and Zelle.
Applicable sales tax is collected on purchases. Buyers with valid resale documentation should present it at checkout.
Are purchases refundable?
All sales are final. Every item is sold as-is, with no refunds or exchanges.
Please inspect your selections carefully and measure furniture—and your space at home—before purchasing.
Will HANDLED help move or deliver my purchases?
Buyers are responsible for arranging the removal and transportation of their purchases, including providing any necessary assistance, tools, and packing materials.
Our team cannot move or load furniture, but we're happy to provide referrals to local movers.
What if I can't pick up my purchase during sale hours?
We can generally arrange pickup on the Monday following the sale. Please coordinate with our team before leaving the property.
A FEW FINAL THINGS
Our estate sales take place in private residences, and we ask every guest to treat the property and its contents with care and respect.
Popular sales can draw enthusiastic crowds, so a little patience is always appreciated.
And remember: if you love it, don't leave it behind. There's a good chance someone else loves it, too.
